What documents do I need before starting a category B driving course?
To start your course, you’ll need a Candidate Driver Profile (PKK). Obtain this by visiting the district office (transport department) with the following documents:
• A medical certificate stating you are fit to drive,
• One passport-sized photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm),
• ID card or passport with proof of address,
• Parental consent if you are underage.
Bring your PKK number to our training center to enroll.
How long does a category B driving course take?
The combined theoretical and practical course lasts 60 hours:
– 30 hours of theory classes covering road regulations, basic car mechanics, maintenance, and operation.
– 30 hours of practical lessons, including driving on a training lot and in urban traffic, focusing on essential maneuvers and safe road behavior.
If you feel uncertain after completing the course, you can book additional driving lessons tailored to your needs.
What does the category B driving test look like?
The practical test is divided into two stages:
- Maneuvering area: Tasks include forward and backward driving in a designated lane (commonly called the “arc”) and hill starts using the parking brake. Candidates must also pass a technical check, inspecting fluid levels, lights, or the horn.
- Urban driving: A 40-minute drive in city traffic, possibly shortened to 25 minutes if all tasks are completed successfully. The test ends immediately if the candidate creates a safety hazard.
Tasks during the urban driving test include:
• Exiting onto a road from a roadside facility,
• Driving on two-way and one-way streets,
• Navigating intersections and pedestrian crossings,
• Parking, turning, and reversing,
• Passing tram or railway crossings and stops,
• Performing maneuvers like overtaking, changing lanes, turning, and braking.

How much does it cost to obtain a driver’s license?
After passing the state driving exam, you can collect your license from your district office. The current fee is 100.50 PLN.
